Career & Expertise
Dr. Behrens grew up in Wilber, Nebraska, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from the University of Nebraska before completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 2007. She spent seven years in emergency medicine and critical care before transitioning to general practice, where she values building lasting relationships with pets and their families. In 2024, Dr. Behrens purchased the clinic and remains committed to supporting the health and well-being of the Highlands Animal Health community.
Life Outside the Clinic
Dr. Behrens enjoys family time, gardening, cheering for the Huskers, and supporting her children’s activities. She and her husband, Grant, have three children, Rowan, Elleson, and Rory, and share their home with their dog, Huck.
